Hinduism

The Brahmans are the highest caste of the caste system.  These usually were the priests that maintained social order by performing rituals that were acceptable by the gods' means.  The origins of the Brahmans go back to the Aryans.  The highest class in the Aryan society were the nobles which carries on war.  The Brahmans made up this class.  They could not socialize with lower castes as this was considered as impurity.  The Brahmans domintated Hindu society and were religous and cultural leaders.
