Upanishads

The Upanishads are philosophical sacred texts written within the Vedas in sanskrit. The Upanishads focus on how to reach moksha and the relationship between atman, the soul of the living things, and Brahman, the soul that unites the souls of living things. They conclude and describe the concepts found within the Vedas, that's why they are called vendanta, the conclusion of the Vedas. Also, they teach Hindus on how to remove suffering and desire from their lives. There are 108 known Upanishads. The Upanishads have impact on Indian thought, and build the foundation for Hinduism.
