Aryans

The Aryans were an Indo-European population that conquered and settled in India around 1000-1999 BCE.  They inhabited India for around 2,000 years and influenced their social structure and religon.  The effects of their influence are still in effect today.  The Aryan's greatest legacy were the religious works that were passed down through the priesthood.  An example of a relgious works are the Vedas.  The ceremonies practiced and the gods worshipped through them laid the groundwork for Hinduism.
